And...please check out the official results and
a great photo gallery by USA Team member Alan Tepper, as well as some of Cheryl's photos from the 2008 NAPF/IPF North American Powerlifting Championships
held in Oranjestad, Aruba, June 18-21st. Mitch won a deadlift gold and Cheryl won 3 golds and a silver medal for the USA -- please read her meet report for more details!
In an "encore presentation," Minneapolis/St. Paul ABC TV affiliate KSTP Channel 5 invited Cheryl Anderson and Mitch Edelstein to re-appear on the station -- this time, on
TWIN CITIES LIVE July 18th (before a live studio audience) to talk about powerlifting and their trip to Aruba for the NAPF Championships -- as well as teach the hosts how to deadlift!! Before this awesome experience, KSTP had reported on Cheryl and Mitch's involvement in powerlifting during their 6:30 pm Eyewitness News broadcast June 5th.
Many, many thanks to photojournalist John Gross for his great interest in our sport and all of his hard work in sharing this story! He has done a terrific job with including powerlifting in the mainstream media.

Healed after a near-fatal car accident in June, Cheryl once again represented the USA at the IPF World Powerlifting Championships in Soelden, Austria
last Oct. 15, 2007. With the 44 kg. / 97 lb. class eliminated from the IPF, she competed in the 48 kg. / 105 lb.
class. She nailed 7 out of 9 attempts successfully, including a 176 lb. bench press --
a lift that ranks #1 in USA Powerlifting for 2007 and places in the top 20 of the International Powerlifting Federation 2007 Rankings for this weight class!
These are
the companies and individuals
who have supported me in my powerlifting endeavors this year and
made it possible
for me to reclaim my title at Women's Nationals 2007 and represent
the U.S. in Soelden, Austria last October at the IPF Open World Powerlifting Championships:
