Notable Women of Minnesota Dinner with Mary Pawlenty, First Lady of Minnesota

The Governor's Mansion, St. Paul, Minnesota ~ June 1st, 2006

Cheryl Anderson and Mary Pawlenty, First Lady of Minnesota

Women's Powerlifting Visits the Governor's Mansion ~ This dinner honored the achievements of women from Minnesota and was hosted by Governor Tim Pawlenty's wife, Mary Pawlenty. She said she found my successes in powerlifting in the Star Tribune West and was simply amazed by the story! :) I was simply amazed that when I first met her, as she welcomed each guest in front of the mansion, she immediately recognized me and said, "You must be my powerlifter!" Several media reporters were on hand, including Diana Pierce of KARE 11 (NBC TV) - I was able to speak to her about powerlifting at length. I was later asked by the President and CEO of Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities and also by a St. Paul Police Department award-winning detective if I would consider coming out as a guest speaker for their organizations to talk about lifting. It was a delicious dinner, a beautiful setting (with perfect weather to boot), and an inspirational time being around such incredible women!! Our First Lady is definitely one of them and was absolutely wonderful to meet!
